Celebrating America
President Trump is planning a “YUGE” parade in Washington, D.C., on June 14th to celebrate Flag Day and the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday. The parade is part of Trump’s larger vision to restore American greatness and America’s confidence.
Like his commencement speech at the University of Alabama, where Trump told graduates not to be victims but winners, he wants America to be great, and he wants every American to be a winner.
That’s why he has suggested renaming Veterans Day to “Victory Day in World War I.” That’s what it was originally – Armistice Day, marking the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. Over time, it became a day to honor our veterans, as we should, but America’s victory in World War I was forgotten.
President Trump is not disrespecting our veterans. He wants to remind Americans of the wars we have won and the courage, heroism, and sacrifice required to win them.
The plans for the Flag Day parade are unbelievable. Reports indicate the parade will include “more than 6,600 soldiers, over 50 military aircraft, and roughly 150 military vehicles, including tanks, Humvees, and other equipment.”
There will be events on the National Mall all day, featuring military demonstrations, historical reenactors from past conflicts, and a fireworks display. Active-duty personnel and U.S. military academy students will interact with young men and women.
