Biden’s Weakness

President Joe Biden returned to the United States after several days in France, marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Before he left, he met with French President Emmanuel Macron. Unfortunately, Biden continues to display moments of physical weakness, confusion, and befuddlement that are deeply troubling. And the verbal gaffes continue.

At one point, Biden was describing isolationism in America and told French reporters, “The idea that we had to wait all those months just to get the money for Iraq, it’s just not who we are. It’s not who America is.” The war in Iraq ended on December 15, 2011 – more than 12 years ago.

I understand that anyone who frequently speaks in public will occasionally make verbal gaffes. But people who are not mentally diminished will hear the mistake, stop, and correct themselves.

Over the years, many commentators and politicians have confused Iraq and Iran, and they corrected themselves. But how do you confuse Iraq with Ukraine and not correct yourself?

Even more troubling were the things Biden intended to say. Most notably, he repeated the bizarre claim that climate change is the only existential threat facing the world, an even greater threat than nuclear weapons.

That’s what he meant to say. That’s what he did say. And that’s an insane thing to say! There is no world leader of a major power who thinks climate change is a bigger threat than nuclear war.

Never mind the obvious fact that even a regional nuclear war will have a tremendous effect on the environment and global warming.

By the way, not many years ago, the left regularly told us, as their excuse to oppose defense spending, that a nuclear war would have no winner and would destroy the planet.

Now, as Biden stumbles his way into a nuclear war with Russia, he is telling us that mushroom clouds over major cities are less of a danger than the temperature at Death Valley going from 118 to 120.

The last time I checked, there were no cities in Death Valley because it’s a desert!
